Porn isn’t supposed to be a teacher, but it’s educating nearly half of young people in the UK today. We want to remove the taboo around porn consumption, encourage better communication when it comes to sex and porn, and share advice from world-renowned experts. Our approach is underpinned by insights from over 5,300 18 to 28 year olds in the UK.

PORN: WHAT THE F**K?

PORN SEX VS REAL SEX

PORN SEX VS REAL SEX

If we think of sex like driving, then watching porn is like watching Fast & Furious. You’re able to drive a car, but the context, equipment, skills, safety precautions, and audience are very different. And like with porn, there’s so much that goes into an F&F scene which the viewer is unaware of.

COMMON MISCONCEPTIONS

COMMON MISCONCEPTIONS

Porn often portrays exaggerated, unrealistic, or purely performance-based versions of sex that don’t reflect real intimacy or communication. It can give the false impression that sex is always spontaneous, perfect, and focused solely on physical pleasure. In reality, healthy sexual experiences involve consent, trust, emotional connection, and open communication. Real sex doesn’t always look or feel like what’s shown in porn, it can be awkward and messy, but that’s what makes it authentic.

Below are some of the common misconceptions about sex that come from watching porn…

PENIS SIZE

Most “big dick” porn features guys with dicks that are 32% longer than the average erect penis. But don’t worry, 5-inch dildos are the most popular at-home purchases.

BREAST SIZE

Porn boobs are actually smaller than the average UK chest size. But this is most likely because mainstream porn puts thinner actresses on a pedestal.

TIME LENGTH

Porn films depict penetrative sex lasting much longer than the average sex session. Many male stars are able to do this because they use performance-enhancing drugs like Viagra or Cialis. But IRL, longer doesn’t always mean better.

ORGASMS

Women orgasm more IRL and men orgasm less IRL. But so many porn scenes end when the man finishes. In reality, it’s totally normal if you don’t!

POSITIONS

People seem to be doing the most athletic acts in porn for the camera. Real sex tends to be much more consistent & simple.
